The tools of our trade are complicated and are constantly evolving. While those discussions became passionate, they ultimately made me a better designer. We'd discuss what line quality did for how we thought about a design's message, we picked apart each other's color choices arguing hue, tint, shade, saturation, and temperature until the classroom felt like the Senate floor after a new federal budget was proposed. I'm three years out of college this month and I'm really missing the discussion of how to think and speak critically about design. What I don't see in the Motion Graphics community is discussion of design theory or places to learn about design theory. I love that content and how great so much of it is. Tutorials and questions about how to pull off specific techniques. I go on the Seattle After Effects Facebook group. I go to Video Copilot's site and I see tutorials. What do you see online in relation to motion graphics? I go to Mtmograph's YouTube channel and I see tutorials.
